(Lady Andal School Campus, Harrington Road, Chetpet, Chennai)

Citizen Josh (75 mins)

Quixotic Project (USA)

Directed by David Dower

Playwright: Josh Kornbluth

Comedic yet impassioned, this is a hilarious story about a man abandoning passivity and becoming “Citizen Josh.” While finishing his political science thesis abandoned decades ago, Josh’s explorations of political theory bring him into the “real” political world – as he finds himself at the center of a number of grassroots protests involving his local playground, state education funding, and even global warming. Including a pivotal encounter with former U.S. Vice-President Al Gore, this tale blends recent electoral history with stories from the Civil Rights movement and academia. This comic monologue, like his other productions, have received extensive critical acclaim in the U.S.A. and is sure to “bring the house down.”
